After all of my efforts, Lo's high school transfer was denied. She'll attend N High School. (I was trying to get her into B. It is less than a half mile from my house.) In the district's infinite wisdom, they believe it is better for my daughter to ride a bus 5 miles to school than walk .5 miles. We live on the wrong side of the imaginary line.
Both schools are excellent. I don't have a problem with N. However, my daughter has a problem with riding the bus. It is "social suicide." I get that. I've watched Sixteen Candles.
She also doesn't know anyone going to N. All of her friends from middle school go to B. They live on the "right side" of the imaginary line. Now Lo is worried about having to eat lunch in the bathroom alone the first day of school. You've seen Mean Girls, right?
Maybe we shouldn't watch any more movies about the troubled teen years....

DANGIT! What is the deal with letting one little girl attend the school close to her? I hate rules like that.
On the upside, knowing how well she adjusted to a new middle school mid-year, I think we know she'll have new friends in no time. How could they not love her? She's fabulous! (And super smart like her dad!)
Love you!
I hate stupid rules like that! She is such a doll, she's going to do great...and no more teen-trouble movies!
