Tile: Day Two

Good news! They're finished. Well, almost.

The first day went remarkably well. We obviously had the A Team here to do the work. Not only did they demo the whole floor, but they laid all of the new tile as well. Looks great!

Day Two, not so great. The A Team must have had to work for someone more important.

Let's just say, Team C did the grouting. Not to worry, the builder says they can fix it. Oh goody!

I could go on, but I'll leave you with this photo instead. Remember, it's Friday afternoon and they won't be back to finish until Monday. I'll save time getting ready for work, at least. I can shower while I......

I Confess!

Recently a friend commented on how good I look in my photo. Having recently moved away, she thought the move must be agreeing with me. After all, I look 40 lbs. lighter and very tan.

I CONFESS! That is an old picture of me when I was 40 lbs. lighter and had just gotten back from a Hawaiian vacation.

I am usually behind the camera, so I am having trouble finding a recent picture of myself for the blog. AND, the ones I have found are not very flattering. Until such a photo exists, I reserve the right to select an old, more flattering picture of myself. Why not?

Demo: Day One

Here we go....

Today is the first day of demo on our tile floor. As you can see in the picture, they basically take a hammer and break out the faulty tiles. It actually looks fun. Let me take a swing. I have some pent-up frustration.

Lo Rides the Bus

After all of my efforts, Lo's high school transfer was denied. She'll attend N High School. (I was trying to get her into B. It is less than a half mile from my house.) In the district's infinite wisdom, they believe it is better for my daughter to ride a bus 5 miles to school than walk .5 miles. We live on the wrong side of the imaginary line.

Both schools are excellent. I don't have a problem with N. However, my daughter has a problem with riding the bus. It is "social suicide." I get that. I've watched Sixteen Candles.

She also doesn't know anyone going to N. All of her friends from middle school go to B. They live on the "right side" of the imaginary line. Now Lo is worried about having to eat lunch in the bathroom alone the first day of school. You've seen Mean Girls, right?

Maybe we shouldn't watch any more movies about the troubled teen years....
